Subject: Best reply yet....

A few weeks ago I sent out an email with one of my take-offs on the Mastercard ad campain "Priceless", and got this great response from one of my old co-workers Jason, and with his permission I am forwarding it for your amusement....

Glenn - I'm really starting to dislike you...

My version goes something like this:

Monday, November 12, around 7:30 AM...

"Starbuck's Coffee" brewed by the Mini-Mart machine (not quite so gourmet):    $1.31
Balance Bar for breakfast, because I'm late for a meeting (7:30 meetings on Monday?  What?):    $1.75
Floppy disk containing my presentation I worked on at midnight on Sunday:    $0.00 (Those come free, lucky me)

My computer locking up and the printer breaking simultaneously after I'm already late, nearly giving me a heart attack . . .  Well, you know.

The only consolation I can offer Jason is that when I was two years into my career, Starbucks didn't exist on the East coast yet, the 1.44MB floppy disk hadn't been invented, and if you wanted to print something landscape you had to enter these obscure "print strings" into Lotus with something like 20 characters and you could never tell from the manual if it was a 1 or an l so it took 3 or 4 tries to get it right.  Of course somebody on this list is going to send me a story about back in the day what happened when the typewriter ribbon ran out just before a meeting....
